Construction continues on tankers being built at BSY under ASCO's order

Construction continues on three new tankers being built at the Baku Shipyard (BSY) in line with an order placed by ASCO, a company under AZCON Holding, Report informs, citing the company.

Currently, construction of one of the tankers is approximately 40 percent complete, while progress on the other two vessels has reached 35 percent.

The tankers will have a maximum speed of 10 knots and a deadweight of 7,740 tonnes. Each vessel will be 141 meters long and 16.98 meters wide, with a moulded depth of 6 meters. Their special design will allow the tankers to call at shallow-water ports while fully loaded.

The tankers are being constructed under an innovative project that meets modern international requirements, including the highest safety and environmental standards.

To date, four tankers have been built and delivered at BSY under ASCO"s order. Among them, "Lachin" and "Kalbajar" are operated for the transportation of crude oil and petroleum products, while "Akademik Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh" and "Zangilan" are used for carrying both oil and chemical products. The tankers currently under construction are being built under the same project as the "Akademik Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh" and "Zangilan" vessels.
