Committee chair: Azerbaijan creating new quality of life in liberated areas

Azerbaijan is creating a new quality of life in the territories liberated from occupation, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev said during a press conference dedicated to the opening ceremony of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.

Report quotes Giliyev as saying the reconstruction efforts and the Great Return program in the liberated territories have already attracted significant interest from international institutions and foreign partners.

"We are not simply building houses and returning people to these territories. We are designing and creating a new quality of life there," he said.

Guliyev noted that around 90,000 people currently live, work, and study at universities in Karabakh and East Zangazur.

He also said that discussions on the restoration and development process had been held with representatives and partners from Syria, Ukraine, and several other countries.
