Baku port handles over 5.5 million tons of cargo in eight months

More than 5.5 million tons of cargo were handled at the Baku International Sea Trade Port, operated by Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), in January-August 2026.

According to Report, citing ADY, this was approximately 3% more than in the same period of 2025.

More than 85,000 TEU of containers were handled during the reporting period, exceeding the 69,855 TEU recorded in the first eight months of last year by 22%.

In August 2026 alone, container turnover amounted to 12,900 TEU, up 39% from the same month last year.
