Baku Metro CJSC will make it possible to pay the fare for a subway ride using bank cards, a source in the Azerbaijani government told Report.
K Group LLC, which owns the BakiKart trademark, has tested the new technology in the Baku Metro, according to the source.
“Once the software of the turnstiles is updated, the NFC payment system will be introduced at the stations. This will allow making payments not only through bank cards, but also using mobile phones, smart watches and rings. This work is planned to be completed by the end of the year,” the source added.
