Modern urban planning principles and smart solutions are being applied in the process of large-scale restoration and reconstruction of the liberated territories, Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan, said at the Women's Assembly within the framework of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).
Report quotes her as saying modern urban planning principles and smart solutions are being applied in the process of large-scale restoration and reconstruction of the liberated territories:
"Green development, digital innovation, social integration, and safe living conditions are being implemented in an interconnected manner. Ensuring equal opportunities for women and girls is defined as a key priority. This approach is also reflected in the development model of our capital city. As a country that has experienced the consequences of conflict for many years, Azerbaijan promotes a sustainable recovery model and human-centered urban development in the post-conflict period."
Muradova noted that Baku serves as a modern city model promoting safety, accessibility, and sustainable solutions:
"Special attention is paid to public spaces, mobility, green infrastructure, and social services. Baku's hosting of major international platforms demonstrates the growing role of cities in global dialogue and cooperation. This approach is fully consistent with the 'Voice of Cities' concept promoted by UN-Habitat."
