Construction of 95% of the highway and 75% of the railway along the Azerbaijani section of the Zangazur Corridor has been completed, with full completion expected in the first half of 2027, Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov said at the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026), Report informs.
"Ninety-five percent of the highway and 75% of the railway have already been constructed, and both are expected to be completed in the first half of next year," Mammadov stated.
He noted that engineering work is currently underway in Armenia as well, with construction on an approximately 42-kilometer section of the corridor on Armenian territory scheduled to begin in early 2027.
According to the deputy minister, the Zangazur Corridor can serve as an important platform for regional economic integration while providing closer connectivity between the South Caucasus and the Trans-Caspian network.
"It will become a crucial link in the Middle Corridor, reducing cargo transit times from the current three weeks to 12–15 days," Mammadov noted.
