President Ilham Aliyev approves contribution agreement for joint project with UN

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved the Contribution Agreement for the implementation of the project towards smart, sustainable and inclusive settlements in the East Zangazur economic region – Integrated territorial planning for sustainable urban development between the Azerbaijani government and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).

According to Report, the head of state signed a new decree in this regard.

The mentioned agreement was signed on July 15, 2026, in New York, the United States. Following the agreement's entry into force, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan must ensure the implementation of its provisions, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must notify the Programme's Secretariat that the necessary domestic procedures have been completed.
