Azerbaijan transports 16.7 million tons of cargo via corridors

Azerbaijan transported 16.7 million tons of cargo through transport corridors in the first half of 2026, according to the State Statistical Committee, Report informs.

During January-June, 7.59 million tons of cargo were transported by rail, 3.37 million tons by sea, and 5.7 million tons by road.

The volume of cargo transported via the Southwest Corridor amounted to 261,800 tons, while the Northwest Corridor handled 2.62 million tons.

The North-South Corridor accounted for 4.56 million tons, while 9.21 million tons were transported through the East-West Corridor, including 4.6 million tons via the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor.

Transit cargo accounted for 46.6% of all cargo transported by rail and 46.5% of cargo transported by road during the six-month period.
