Azerbaijan to implement digital reforms in water resources management

Azerbaijan will implement digital reforms in water management as part of the "National Strategy for the Rational Use of Water Resources (2024-2040)," Zaur Mikayilov, chairman of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, said at the Climate Action Week (BCAW2025) in Baku, Report informs.
He stated that the Strategy envisages the introduction of new technologies: "The Strategy envisages the creation of real-time monitoring systems and the development of an Electronic Information System on Water Resources. These reforms will improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency."
According to Mikayilov, the new systems will prevent water loss in both cities and agriculture. They will also ensure efficient water resource management.
