Azerbaijan's air passenger traffic rises 6.2% to 2.9 million

A total of nearly 2.9 million passengers were carried by air in Azerbaijan in January-August 2026, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

The figure increased by 168,100 passengers, or 6.2%, compared with the same period last year.

Meanwhile, air cargo transportation decreased by 3.4%, or 8,600 tons, to 248,000 tons during the first eight months of 2026.

During the reporting period, economic entities operating in Azerbaijan's transport sector carried 162.74 million tons of cargo. Air transport accounted for 0.2% of the total cargo volume.
