Azerbaijan Railways: Gakh-Balakan section temporarily closed due to mudslides

The Gakh-Balakan railway section in Azerbaijan is temporarily closed to train traffic due to severe infrastructure damage caused by mudslides in the Gakh, Zagatala, and Balakan districts, Report informs.
According to Azerbaijan Railways, ticket sales to Goragan, Aliabad, Zagatala, Goyam, and Balakan stations have been suspended from July 8 through July 20.
Due to safety measures, starting today, Baku-Balakan trains will only operate to Gakh station, while Balakan-Baku trains will depart from Gakh station.
Free bus services will be provided to transport passengers from other stations to Gakh station and back.
