Azerbaijan presents innovative urban planning model in Karabakh and East Zangazur

Azerbaijan is sharing with the international community the innovative urban planning model it has formed through the smart city and smart village projects implemented in Karabakh and East Zangazur, Vahid Hajiyev, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts, told journalists within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Report informs.

According to him, the World Urban Forum held in Baku carries special significance for Azerbaijan:

"As you know, large-scale restoration and reconstruction works are being carried out in the liberated territories of the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions. After the liberation of Shusha from occupation, the construction of new villages, settlements, and cities in the region began. Today, we are already observing the implementation of major projects in the Zangilan, Jabrayil, and Gubadli districts.

We are currently building modern, sustainable, and innovative living spaces by applying the smart village and smart city concepts. Sharing this experience on an international platform is extremely important for us. The main purpose of our participation here is to convey Azerbaijan's gained experience to an international audience. We believe that this forum will create important cooperation and experience exchange opportunities for our country."
