'Azerbaijan neighborhood' project in Kahramanmaras presented at WUF13

The project of the "Azerbaijan neighborhood" built in Türkiye's Kahramanmaras province was presented within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
Report informs that Ahmet Kutlu Gayretli, Head of the Mass Housing Projects and Research Center Department of Türkiye, spoke about the project in the Turkish pavilion.
According to him, large-scale reconstruction work is being carried out in the area called the "Azerbaijan neighborhood" in Kahramanmaras after the earthquake within the framework of Türkiye's TOKİ project.
He noted that the project includes 1,223 residential houses, 1,789 commercial facilities, 464 offices, a cultural center, and a school named after Heydar Aliyev.
The presentation stated that commercial zones, a sports center, a mosque, and recreation areas in the territory have been designed in accordance with the needs of residents:
"Decisions regarding squares and public spaces have also been finalized. The main goal of the project is to create a safe, modern living environment that meets social needs."
