Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan discuss expanding Middle Corridor cooperation

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have discussed expanding cooperation on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor, Report informs.

Azerbaijan's Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev shared the information in a post on X.

Nabiyev said he had held a meeting with Kazakhstan's Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev, Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC Nurlan Zhakupov and Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC Yelzhas Otynshiyev.

According to the minister, the meeting covered expanding cooperation on the Middle Corridor, investment opportunities in ferry vessels, increasing cargo transportation by road, and the project to lay an underwater fiber-optic cable line along the bottom of the Caspian Sea.

The sides also exchanged views on a draft agreement on the development of the Middle Corridor and ongoing work to digitalize the route.
