AZAL: Baku-Shymkent flight to expand trade, humanitarian ties

The launch of a new flight between Baku and Shymkent (Kazakhstan) will meet the growing demand for air travel and help expand trade, economic, and humanitarian ties, said Jamil Manizade, Chief Commercial Officer of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), Report informs.

According to him, residents of Shymkent will have access not only to flights within Azerbaijan but also to AZAL's extensive international route network: "Thanks to convenient transfers via Heydar Aliyev International Airport, passengers will be able to travel to cities in Europe, the Middle East, Türkiye, and the CIS countries. Expanding air traffic between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan has always been a focus for both government agencies and business circles in both countries. I am confident that the launch of this new flight will meet the growing demand for air travel, help strengthen trade, economic, and humanitarian ties, and will be another practical step towards the further development of Azerbaijani-Kazakh cooperation."

Manizade added that the airline, in turn, will continue to expand its route network in Kazakhstan: "I hope that in the near future we will be able to announce the opening of new routes that will bring our countries even closer together."
