The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), held in Baku, will leave a significant mark on urban development and urban planning policy.
Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, said this in a speech on the results of the first day of the forum, Report informs.
According to him, holding the forum in Baku has special value, as it allows Azerbaijan to present its experience in addressing housing and urban planning issues to the international community.
"From the transformation of Greater Baku to the restoration of Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, our own experience has shown that urban planning and housing policy are not only technical tasks, but also strategic tools for ensuring sustainability, stability and long-term development.
Our goal is not simply construction, but the creation of a more ecological and sustainable model of urban development. These are lessons drawn from our own national experience, and we are pleased to share them on this global platform," he said, noting that WUF13 will leave an important legacy.
The chairman also emphasized that the forum contributes to the exchange of experience in sustainable urban development and to strengthening international cooperation.
