Azerbaijan aims to develop a new model of post-conflict reconstruction in its liberated territories, based on the principle of "build back better," sustainable development, and climate commitments, said Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture.
According to Report, Guliyev made the remarks during WUF13 in Baku.
He noted that large-scale reconstruction and development projects in Azerbaijan"s liberated territories represent one of the most significant areas of national urban policy.
"The country has launched a comprehensive rebuilding process in regions that have suffered extensive destruction for many years. Entire cities and villages, social infrastructure facilities, transport networks, energy systems, and public services are being rebuilt from scratch," he said.
"Our main goal is not only to restore what was lost, but to present a new model of post-conflict recovery based on building a better future, national climate commitments, and the Sustainable Development Goals," Guliyev added.
He also emphasized that comprehensive urban regeneration and housing programs are being implemented to support the creation of smart and inclusive communities.
