Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) continues reconstruction works on the Yevlakh-Barda railway line, Report informs, citing the company.
Demolition works, which began in May on the 30-kilometer line, have already been completed.
A total of 174 engineering structures are planned to be constructed within the project, including 4 bridges, 12 vehicle overpasses, 98 culverts, and 60 emergency overpasses.
Currently, the construction of the roadbed is ongoing.
Notably, since no major repairs have been carried out on this line since 1967, the speed of trains varied between 10–60 km/h. After the reconstruction works are completed, the travel speed will increase, and a faster, more stable, and uninterrupted rail connectivity will be enabled. Thus, a full-fledged railway infrastructure will be established leading from Yevlakh to Khankandi.
