ADY: About 2 hours of train travel to Tbilisi spent on customs procedures

The travel time by train from Baku to Tbilisi is approximately nine hours and 30 minutes, of which about 2 hours are spent on border customs procedures - a one-hour inspection is carried out at the border of each country, Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, Head of the Public Relations Department of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), told Report.

He noted that daily passenger trains have already started operating in the Baku and Tbilisi directions:

"The train departs from Baku at 23:10 and from Tbilisi at 21:00. Passenger demand on the route is high, and due to growing interest, additional wagons have been added to some services. More than 70 percent of the 8,400 tickets put on sale have already been sold. The trains stop at Bilajari, Yevlakh, Ganja, and Aghstafa international stations in Azerbaijan. In Georgia, they stop at Gardabani and Tbilisi Railway Station."

The operation of the Baku–Tbilisi–Baku passenger train has been restored after a 6-year hiatus, and daily services are planned.
