ADSEA chief: Sustainable water management of strategic importance

Sustainable water management is a strategic direction for Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Agency for Water Resources of Azerbaijan (ADSEA) Zaur Mikayilov said at the opening of the II International Exhibition and Conference Baku Water Week, Report informs.

According to him, large-scale reforms have been implemented in this area in the country in recent years.

"A national water strategy has been developed and is being successfully implemented. Our goal is to ensure water security and make access to clean water possible for everyone," he noted.

Mikayilov noted that Baku Water Week is becoming a traditional platform.

"The first forum held last year showed how important this initiative is. Today we have the opportunity to discuss issues of management, conservation and transfer of water resources to future generations," he noted.

The head of ADSEA emphasized that panel discussions, presentations and exchange of experience within the framework of the conference will contribute to achieving the goals of the national strategy, forming new ideas and strengthening international cooperation.
