When planning settlements, urban development, transportation, and affordable housing must be considered as one interconnected system, Srinivas Sampath, President of the Asian Development Bank, said during World Urban Forum 13 in Baku.
According to Report, Sampath noted that the experience of several projects has demonstrated the difficulties of implementing housing initiatives solely through the private sector.
According to the ADB representative, mechanisms involving public financing are currently being considered jointly with a number of countries in order to reduce project risks and provide basic infrastructure.
