USA shows interest in steel and ferroalloys production in Azerbaijan

The economic team of the US Embassy in Baku visited the Baku Steel Company plants in Sumgayit as part of bilateral cooperation in industry, energy, and trade.

As Report informs with reference to the diplomatic mission, the visitors familiarized themselves with the production of seamless steel pipes for the oil and gas industry, with the United States being the main market, as well as with the production of ferroalloys supplied to American metallurgists.

These enterprises are considered among the leading ones in Azerbaijan's non-oil sector, producing export-oriented products and creating high added value.

The embassy emphasized the importance of industrial partnership with Azerbaijan and expressed interest in its further expansion for mutual economic benefit.

The Baku Steel Company and Baku Non Ferrous and Foundry Company plants were modernized in 2017 and 2018 respectively, and today supply products not only to the United States but also to Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
