EBRD: Azerbaijan's industrial zones evolving into business ecosystems

Industrial zones in Azerbaijan are evolving into ecosystems that bring together suppliers, buyers and manufacturers, Nataly Mouravidze, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's Country Manager for Azerbaijan, said.

According to Report, she made the remarks during a panel discussion at the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026) in Baku.

Mouravidze said that based on EBRD projects implemented in many countries, such components are key elements of success.

"As an investor, the EBRD works with various companies and countries and accumulates all this experience. One extremely important point is that ecosystems have become the new direction for free industrial zones," she said.

"In the past, investors came to build a factory, but now they ask completely different questions: Can I expand from this region? Can I reach different markets? What kind of ecosystem is available?" Mouravidze added.
