Baku industrial output grows 3.8% in five months

The volume of industrial goods produced and services provided in Baku stood at 21.9 billion manats ($12.9 billion) in January-May 2026, Report informs, citing the Baku City Statistics Department.
This is 0.8 billion manats ($470.6 million), or 3.8%, more than in the first five months of last year.
In the first five months of this year, 72.9% of industrial output in the capital was produced in the mining sector, 23.4% in manufacturing, 2.8% in the production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, and 0.9% in water supply, waste treatment and processing.
The non-state sector accounted for 82.7% of industrial output. Industrial products made up 88.2% of total production, while industrial services accounted for 11.8%.
Most of the goods produced were shipped to consumers. Taking into account stocks from previous periods, industrial enterprises had finished goods worth 540 million manats ($317.6 million) in their warehouses as of June 1.
Industrial enterprises also had other products worth 37.7 million manats ($22.2 million), purchased from other enterprises and intended for sale, in their warehouses.
In January-May 2026, industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs operating in this sector in Azerbaijan produced industrial goods worth 27.5 billion manats ($16.2 billion), up 0.2% from the same period in 2025. Production fell by 0.9% in the oil and gas sector and rose by 5.8% in the non-oil and gas sector.
