Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Aykhan Javadov, who won the gold medal at the U-20 World Championships in Bratislava, said the victory did not come easily, especially after his defeat at the European Championships.
"I am grateful to everyone who supported me, and to the Azerbaijani people. We prepared very well for this tournament. This victory did not come easily; it was very difficult for me, especially after my defeat at the European Championships. I thank the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, my personal coaches, and the national team coaches," the athlete told Report.
Javadov defeated Uzbekistan's Dostonbek Oripov 4-1 in the final, successfully defending his title and becoming a two-time U-20 world champion.
