Thomas Bach: 80% of athletes will be vaccinated before Tokyo 2020

"More than 80 percent of athletes participating in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics will be vaccinated against the coronavirus before traveling to Japan," said Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee.
According to him, currently, 75% of athletes coming to the Olympics got the coronavirus vaccine or have such an opportunity: "I am confident this figure will be more than 80 percent."
The Tokyo Summer Olympics was scheduled for July 24-August 9, 2020. The games have been postponed from July 23 to August 8 this year due to a coronavirus pandemic.
