The opening ceremony of the II International Chess Festival Quba Open 2026, dedicated to the memory of international arbiter Gudrat Ismayilov, has been held in Azerbaijan's Guba, Report informs.
The tournament is taking place at the city's Sports, Health, and Training Complex.
About 350 chess players from Azerbaijan, Belarus, India, Iran, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Türkiye, Ukraine, and China are participating in the festival.
The prize fund of the competition is 24,420 manats. The tournament will conclude on September 12.
