Rashad Nabiyev meets with Azerbaijani cadet judo national team

Azerbaijan Judo Federation (AJF) President Rashad Nabiyev has met with the country's cadet national team following its historic performance at the Cadet European Judo Championships, Report informs.
According to the AJF, Nabiyev congratulated the team on its achievements at the tournament, held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, from June 29 to July 2.
He praised the athletes for demonstrating determination and a strong sense of responsibility throughout the competition, noting that the team's consistent success in recent years reflects the systematic development of judo in Azerbaijan.
Nabiyev also emphasized that judo plays an important role not only in achieving sporting success but also in shaping young athletes as individuals. He said the health, well-being and overall development of the judokas remain a top priority.
The AJF president highlighted the importance of developing a professional mindset from an early age, adding that the team's latest achievements represent an important step toward excellence and provide a solid foundation for even greater success in the future.
At the European Championships, Azerbaijan finished second among 43 countries in the medal standings by gold medals and first in the overall medal count, winning two gold, three silver and five bronze medals.
