More Than Medals World project launched following U17 World Wrestling Championships

Following the U17 World Wrestling Championships held in Baku, the More Than Medals World project has been launched at the initiative of the International Olympic Committee and with the organization of United World Wrestling and the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation.

According to the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA), the project aims to support the professional development of young wrestlers, improve their technical and tactical skills, enhance coaches' knowledge and abilities, promote clean sport values, and raise awareness in sports psychology and performance management.

The program also provides opportunities for athletes from different countries to exchange experience, strengthen friendships and promote mutual understanding.

As part of the project, AMADA representatives held an educational seminar on anti-doping for participants. The training covered anti-doping rule violations, the doping control process, the harmful effects of prohibited substances and methods on health, as well as updates to the World Anti-Doping Code and international standards that will come into force on January 1, 2027.

The interactive seminar included a quiz on anti-doping topics, allowing participants to test their knowledge. Active participants received commemorative gifts from AMADA.

Around 100 wrestlers and coaches from 20 countries took part in the seminar.
