Michael Hackett: Memorandum contributes to development of Azerbaijani-US relations

The signing of the memorandum further advances relations between Azerbaijan and the US, said Michael Hackett, Counselor for Public Affairs at the US Embassy in Baku, Report informs.

On behalf of the US Embassy, the diplomat thanked the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation for its cooperation.

"Azerbaijan has hosted numerous similar sporting events. American athletes are here not only to participate in a sporting event, but also to learn about the country's history and culture. These programs are extremely beneficial and enhance trust and mutual understanding between the parties. I believe that the signing of the memorandum between Wrestling for Peace and the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation also advances these relations," Hackett emphasized.

The U17 World Wrestling Championships will be held in Baku from July 27 to August 2.
