Azerbaijani women's wrestling squad for World Cup named

Baku. 29 November. REPORT.AZ/ Squad of Azerbaijani national team has been announced for the Women's World Cup in Cheboksary, Russia on December 1.

Report informs citing the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF), 7 wrestlers will compete in the two-day competition.

Under the leadership of senior coach Aslan Aghayev and coach Rovshan Umudov, athletes Turkan Nasirova (48 kg), Sabina Hamzelzade (53 kg), Solmaz Hashimzade (55 kg), Alyona Kolesnik (58 kg), Tatyana Omelchenko (60 kg), Elmira Gambarova (63 kg) ) and Elis Manolova (69 kg) will compete for medals, however, no one will represent the country in 75 kg weight category. According to the draw, Azerbaijani wrestlers will compete in Group B with teams from China, Ukraine and Mongolia. Russia, US, Japan and Sweden will fight in Group A.

According to the program, group matches will be held on December 1. The next day group leaders will meet in the finals, while the second in the group for the third place.

Azerbaijan will be represented by international referee Intigam Aliyev.
