Azerbaijani judokas win nine medals at European Cup in Georgia

Azerbaijani judokas won nine medals at the European Cup held in Gori, Georgia, concluding the tournament with a strong overall performance.

According to Report, four more Azerbaijani judokas reached the podium on the final day of competition.

Competing in the men's -100 kg division, Ejdar Bagirov defeated all of his opponents to claim the gold medal. In the same weight category, Elmar Gasimov secured bronze.

Khayam Aliyev (-90 kg) and Diana Tchkayeva (-48 kg) also finished the tournament with bronze medals.

On the opening day, Islam Rahimov (-66 kg) captured gold, Elshan Asadov (-66 kg) took silver, while Babarahim Mirzayev (-60 kg), Nizami Imranov (-66 kg), and Rufat Shovlyatov (-73 kg) earned bronze medals.

Azerbaijan finished third in the overall team standings with two gold, one silver, and six bronze medals, while placing second in the men's team ranking.
