Azerbaijani boxers win 10 medals at Belt and Road tournament in China

Azerbaijani boxers won 10 medals - two gold, three silver and five bronze - at the international Belt and Road tournament for senior and U-19 athletes in China.

According to Report, citing the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, Nihat Gasimov (55 kg) and Saftar Mammadzada (+90 kg), both members of the U-19 national team preparing for the World Championships, won gold medals.

Heydar Azmammadov (85 kg) claimed silver, while Ali Bakhishov (60 kg), Renat Giyasli (80 kg) and Zaur Samadov (90 kg) won bronze medals.

For the senior national team, Tural Sariyev (55 kg) and Sarkhan Aliyev (70 kg) finished second, while Zalimkhan Suleymanov (55 kg) and Zaur Gahramanov (65 kg) took third place.

Before the tournament, the Azerbaijani boxers also took part in an international training camp in China involving athletes from 26 countries.
