Azerbaijani athletes deliver successful performances at European championship

The European Athletics Championships of the Small States of Europe have been held in Monaco.

Report informs that nearly 300 athletes from 17 countries competed in the event, organized by the Athletic Association of Small States of Europe with the support of European Athletics.

Members of Azerbaijan's national team delivered successful performances at the championship, held at Stade Louis II. Lamiya Valiyeva finished second in the 100-meter race with a time of 11.91 seconds. Ilaha Guliyeva won bronze in the 400 meters with a result of 54.64 seconds. Guliyeva also set a new Azerbaijani record with this result.

In shot put, Sakina Hajizada finished third with a result of 12.78 meters. Azerbaijan's team of Lamiya Valiyeva, Ilaha Guliyeva, Safiya Karimova and Farida Rzayeva also won bronze medals in the Swedish relay.
