3rd CIS Games: Competitions in 7 sports to take place today

Competitions in seven sports are being held today as part of the 3rd CIS Games, which are currently underway in Azerbaijan.

According to Report, swimming events are continuing at the Sports Palace in Ganja. The city, serving as the main host of the Games, will also see classification matches in volleyball, with Azerbaijan's U-15 women's team set to face Kyrgyzstan.

In Shaki, the next round of classification matches in the traditional game of chovgan will take place, with Azerbaijan facing Kuwait in Group A.

Gabala will host both the qualification and final rounds in trap shooting at the Gabala Shooting Club. Badminton competitions in the mixed team category also begin there today.

Yevlakh is holding boxing classification matches, while in Mingachevir, taekwondo events continue, with more winners to be announced.

The 3rd CIS Games will conclude on October 8, featuring 1,624 athletes and 2,337 officials from 13 countries. Azerbaijan has the largest delegation with 340 athletes, followed by Russia (262), Uzbekistan (254), Belarus (240), and Kazakhstan (147). Other participating countries include Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Türkiye, Cuba, Kuwait, Pakistan, and Oman.
