Tractor hits mine in liberated Aghdam, driver injured

A tractor hit a mine in the liberated Aghdam district of Azerbaijan on September 5, injuring its driver, Report informs, citing a joint statement by Azerbaijan's Interior Ministry, Prosecutor General's Office and Mine Action Agency (ANAMA).

The incident occurred in the territory of Chamanli Sarijali village while the tractor was operating in an area that had not been cleared of mines.

The driver, Elmdar Sariyev, born in 1972 and a resident of Shotlanli village in the Aghjabadi district, was injured in the explosion.

Earlier preliminary information indicated that the tractor had struck an anti-tank mine while plowing and that the vehicle had sustained serious damage, while the driver was initially said to be unharmed.

The Aghdam District Prosecuto's Office is investigating the incident.

ANAMA, the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor General's Office once again urged residents to follow safety rules, heed mine warning signs, avoid touching suspicious objects or entering unfamiliar areas, and not interfere with fenced-off zones.
