"The owner of our ship is not a Turk or sails under the Turkish flag. Our ship belongs to foreign investors. Boden is responsible for the ship's technical facilities," Levent Karsan, director of the Turkish company Boden Maritime said, Report informs, citing CNN Turk.
"The deceased's body will be brought to Turkey and sent to Azerbaijan by Turkish Airlines," he said.
Azerbaijani citizen Farman Ismayilov, born in 1976, was killed in a pirate attack on a Turkish ship Mozart off the coast of Nigeria on January 23.
