Russia to extradite man on international wanted list to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani citizen Nahid Alijanli, who is wanted internationally, will be extradited from Russia to Azerbaijan.

The Prosecutor General's Office told Report that Russia granted the extradition request in accordance with the Convention on Legal Assistance of October 7, 2002.

Alijanli is accused under Article 333.4-1 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan of unauthorized absence from a military unit or place of service for more than three months in a criminal case opened by the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Gubadli District.

After evading the investigation, he was placed on an international wanted list.

The Penitentiary Service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Justice is currently taking steps to extradite him to Azerbaijan.
