Allegations circulating in Armenian media that Viken Eulcekciyan, a convicted terrorist serving a 20-year sentence in Azerbaijan, is on a hunger strike are false, Report confirms.
Previous claims of a similar nature were also debunked. Report has once again verified that Eulcekciyan, a Lebanese mercenary who fought in Karabakh, is not on a hunger strike and is currently serving his sentence.
Eulcekciyan was captured by Azerbaijan's State Security Service (SSS) following the 2020 Second Karabakh War.
He was charged under multiple articles of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code on mercenarism, terrorism, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, participation in illegal armed groups, and illegal border crossing.
The Baku Military Court sentenced Eulcekciyan to 20 years in prison, with the first five years to be served in a prison facility and the remaining 15 in a high-security correctional institution.
