Turkic states plan first joint satellite launch in 2027

The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is set to launch its first joint satellite, OTS-SAT, in 2027, Report informs, citing Kazakhstan's Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development.

It was noted that the project was discussed between Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, Zhaslan Madiyev, and OTS Secretary-General Kubanychbek Omuraliev.

The satellite is being developed by Kazakh engineers and specialists at the Assembly and Testing Complex for Spacecraft in Astana. Officials confirmed that the engineering model has already been fully assembled, with work proceeding according to the approved schedule.

Discussions also covered the preparation of a framework agreement, project financing, and launch arrangements.

Madiyev stated that the implementation of OTS-SAT will strengthen technological cooperation among Turkic states and open opportunities for new joint projects.
