SABAH.city to become a hub for integrating science, education and technology businesses in Azerbaijan

The SABAH.city innovation campus will bring together leading technology and innovation companies in Azerbaijan, educational institutions and research institutes, creating synergy among them, Chief Executive Officer of the High-Tech Park (HTP) Nihat Majidov told media representatives during a media tour of the SABAH.city innovation campus.

According to Report, he noted that the HTP is currently undergoing a significant period of transformation:

"The High-Tech Park was established in 2016 by a decree of President Ilham Aliyev. The main objective of the technology park is to contribute to sustainable economic development, commercialize the results of scientific research, and integrate science, education and the industrial sector. Our activities are aimed at creating a unified space and ensuring synergy among the country's leading technology and innovation companies, advanced educational institutions and research institutes."

Head of the ASAN Artificial Intelligence Center (ASAN AI Hub) Laman Ibrahimova said that more than 60,000 users use the ASAN AI platform:

"ASAN AI is a platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to connect innovative developments, scientific experts and interaction among participants. The main objective of the project is to accelerate the development and implementation of AI solutions aimed at addressing pressing practical challenges. To this end, the platform creates a unified ecosystem bringing together public and private organizations, higher education institutions, researchers and startups. At present, around 50 AI developments are hosted on the platform. Four of these solutions have already reached the pilot testing stage. The platform has more than 60,000 users."

Ibrahimova added that the platform offers more than 60 online training programs from over 20 institutions:

"Users can enhance their knowledge in this field and obtain international certificates. To support research, we have a network of 22 researchers. They participate in preparing new scientific papers together with foreign experts under their guidance."

The representative said that the launch of ASAN AI at SABAH.city marks a new stage for the platform:

"SABAH.city is a kind of physical space for the work we carry out through the online ecosystem. We want to cooperate more closely with the institutions, startups, researchers and universities operating here, contribute to the development of new ideas and the creation of new solutions, while also making use of these opportunities."

It should be noted that on September 14, 2026, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the first phase of the SABAH.city innovation campus, established at the High-Tech Park of the Ministry of Science and Education in Baku.

The SABAH.city innovation campus has a total of 13 educational and research laboratories established by Baku State University, Azerbaijan Technical University and Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry. The laboratories are designed to conduct research and applied activities in priority scientific and technological fields, including artificial intelligence, robotics, computer science, cybersecurity, biotechnology, nanobiology, nanophysics, chemistry, telecommunications and others.
