Deputy minister: 2,000 harmful content sources neutralized in Azerbaijan in 6 months

Over the past six months, 2,000 harmful content–spreading resources have been neutralized across Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samaddin Asadov stated at the 4th National Cybersecurity Forum in Baku, Report informs.
Asadov mentioned that during the reporting period, 200 major DDoS attacks were also neutralized, more than 1.5 million data leaks were detected, and the activity of 160,000 botnet networks was prevented: "To ensure nationwide information exchange on cybersecurity and protect the information space from modern threats and cyberattacks, a Unified Cybersecurity Platform has been established. Currently, over 50 institutions have joined, and the network is being further expanded."
The deputy minister stressed that cybersecurity is not achieved solely through technical solutions: "The human factor plays a decisive role. That is why awareness activities are of special importance. Over the past period, more than 705 awareness events have been held, informing around 48,000 citizens about cybersecurity. In the last three years, nearly 360 specialists have been trained at the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center, with 86% already employed. Additionally, 120 specialists from public and private institutions have joined advanced training programs, and cybersecurity awareness sessions have been conducted in 53 organizations."
