Azerbaijan's Law on Banks will be extended to cover digital nomads under proposed legislative amendments.
According to Report, the provision is included in a draft law discussed at a meeting of the Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Committee of the Azerbaijani parliament.
Under the proposed changes, digital nomads will be able to open accounts at authorized banks using only an identity document and a signature specimen card.
The draft legislation also stipulates that, with a customer's electronic consent obtained through the Electronic Government Information System, information related to their bank account may be shared with service providers in accordance with the law on payment services and payment systems.
The proposed amendments are intended to facilitate banking services for digital nomads and support the development of Azerbaijan's digital economy ecosystem.
