Azerbaijan's main goal until 2030 is technological competence, Mikayil Jabbarov says

Azerbaijan's main goal until 2030 is to become a country highly competent in adopting and utilizing the opportunities created by technological changes, Report informs referring to Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov's statement at the Baku ID (Baku Investment Day) festival.

Report quotes him as saying the new definition of literacy is closely related to technology, especially artificial intelligence.

"In the world, there are those who create these technologies and those who implement them," the minister said.

Touching upon changes in the labor market, Mikayil Jabbarov noted that in the next four years, a 50% reduction in jobs performed exclusively by humans and a 50% increase in the number of jobs involving human-technology interaction are expected. The number of fully automated jobs will increase by 4% compared to the baseline level.

"This shows that talent is no longer understood merely as classic reading, writing, and math skills. Digital advantages are necessary for competitiveness," he emphasized.

The minister noted that Azerbaijan has successfully completed the necessary stage of ensuring macroeconomic and macro-financial stability.
