Azerbaijan climbs 5 spots in global broadband speed rankings

In August 2025, Azerbaijan ranked 76th out of 154 countries for fixed broadband internet speed, up five notches compared to July, Report informs, citing the Speedtest Global Index.

During this period, the country's average speed reached 83.95 Mbps. This marks an 85% increase compared to the same period last year, when the average speed was 45.47 Mbps.

In the fixed broadband category, Singapore led with 394.3 Mbps, while Syria ranked last with 3.35 Mbps.

Azerbaijan also improved its position in mobile internet speed, climbing five spots to rank 51st among 103 countries, with an average speed of 76.61 Mbps.

The United Arab Emirates topped the mobile internet rankings with 614.42 Mbps, while Bolivia came in last with 14.69 Mbps.

In terms of city-level performance, Baku ranked 110th out of 198 cities for fixed broadband speed, with an average of 84.76 Mbps-two places higher than the previous month.

Abu Dhabi led the city rankings for fixed broadband with 369.17 Mbps, while Aleppo placed last with 2.83 Mbps.

For mobile internet, Baku rose two spots to 81st among 148 cities, reaching an average speed of 96.75 Mbps.

Among cities, Abu Dhabi again ranked first for mobile internet speed with 625.24 Mbps, while La Paz (Bolivia) came last with 11.29 Mbps.
