The World Health Organization (WHO) believes that humanity can get rid of three types of cancer in the coming decades, Report informs via RIA Novosti.
Lung cancer can be defeated if humanity gets rid of smoking. Research into the effects of nicotine on human health shows that tobacco smoke causes lung cancer.
A similar way to combat liver and colon cancer is to stop drinking alcohol.
Cervical cancer can be defeated by getting rid of the causative agent of the human papillomavirus. There is also a vaccine against it.
Earlier, scientists could manage to eliminate the risk of developing breast cancer in women almost completely.
