Long-livers and their offspring are less likely to become infected with a novel coronavirus, said scientists from Harvard Medical School and the University of Edinburgh.
According to Report, people living up to 90 years have advanced hereditary background. It is the genetic variants that prevent aging that can neutralize dangerous viruses when they enter the body.
To test this, scientists studied the genetic characteristics of 1,221 people with a positive test result and 458,029 with a negative one.
Genetic mutations that cause longevity have been shown to help people cope with COVID-19 more quickly and become more resistant to the virus.
