First surgery involving robot assistant performed in Azerbaijan

A robotic device developed by China's Kangduo company has been installed for the first time in Azerbaijan at the National Oncology Center, Report informs, referring to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Health.

For the first time in Azerbaijan, a robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery was successfully performed at the Ministry's National Oncology Center. This event is considered the beginning of a revolutionary phase that promises major new prospects for the country's healthcare system.

The first procedure was a robot-assisted hysterectomy. The initial stages of the operation were carried out by the Center"s Director General, academician Jamil Aliyev, and the subsequent stages were successfully completed by the Center's specialized medical team.
