Doctor: Carriers of new COVID-19 strains remain contagious up to 28 days

"While the previous coronavirus strain was contagious for two weeks, the new strains are infectious for up to 28 days. In this period, the positive tests, taken from those infected, is a normal event," a professor at the Azerbaijan Medical University, surgeon Rauf Gasimov said speaking on the topic 'COVID in stationary conditions,' Report informs.
He noted that the positive test speaks of the presence of the virus in airways: "That is the virus is still present in these patients, which is why they should be cautious. These persons should not contact other people. Let no one think that he has already recovered and might not infect others. On the contrary, the process is still underway."
