Azerbaijan plans around 150 bone marrow transplants annually at new center

Approximately 150 bone marrow transplants are planned annually in the initial stage at the Bone Marrow Transplantation Center in Yeni Klinika (New Clinic) in Baku, Azerbaijan, Vugar Gurbanov, Executive Director of the Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions (TABIB), told journalists at the briefing, Report informs.
Gurbanov noted that the number of operations is expected to increase in the coming years:
"At the initial stage, a minimum of 150 bone marrow transplant surgeries are planned per year. Priority will be given to children, since many in the country need bone marrow transplantation."
